Leftovers for lunch yesterday.  Dinner with Michael and Auntie Glo at the Tong Palace.  I made a little more bori-cha with chocolate chips ice cream last night.  It looks good, but I haven't tried it out yet (it's still hardening in the freezer.)

Okay, off to Alaska for two weeks!

Tonight's pizza (the last of three dinners) was pepperoni, red bell peppers, and jalepeno.  Ok.  A little too heavy on the the red bell peppers.  Before that I Had ox-tail noodle soup from Denny's with Michael.  Before that, the first dinner was mac-and-cheese with Edith and her kids.  Lunch (random leftovers) with them, too.

Breakfast burrito from El Faro for lunch.  It was just sort of average, not as good as the breakfast burrito from Love's.  It was chorizo, eggs, ham, and beans which sounds like it could be nothing but a home run.  Ribs at home for dinner.  I thought they turned out okay, but it'd be nice to get someone else's opinion some time.

The first two pictures are from yesterday's food -- the curry chicken pho, and the gai choi (芥菜, Chinese mustard greens) soup.

A pretty good curry chicken pho from the 7 Mission restaurant (7th and Mission) for lunch.  I'm happy I discovered this place, even though it's a little far from work, because the only other good pho place in the area I know of is closed (along with the rest of the International Food Court.)  Mustard green soup at home for dinner.  A heck of a lot of it.

Red bean and taro(? I'm not sure, I think it might have been potato!) for breakfast with Uncle Eric and Auntie Suzanne.  Lunch from Specialties at work.  Chicken and celery dumplings for dinner, with a sausage and chicken pizza for dessert. Yes, I had some leftover chicken I needed to use.

Soup noodle day -- rare beef pho from the new Vietnamese place on Clement with Michael.  It's Hanoi-style with broad rice noodles and no basil or bean sprouts.  It was okay.  About the same as the Turtle Palace.  Soft tofu soup with ramen noodles from My Tofu House with Michael.

Chicken and shrimp gumbo for dinner.

Chicken and shrimp gumbo for dinner.  It's a pretty good gumbo, but I'm still not completely happy with it.  I didn't put any mushrooms in it, and I kinda wish I had.  On the other hand, it was a little thinner than before, which I think worked out well.  I'd like to experiment with different sausages.

Mediocre fish paste dumplings for lunch.  I don't know what I was thinking.  I thought when I was a kid, we'd make won ton with fish paste from the chinese market and I liked it fine.  Maybe the fish paste isn't as good as it used to be.  Or maybe my taste changed.  Or my memory is playing tricks on me.  Either way it's an experiment that I won't repeat again any time soon.

Vietnamese sandwiches from this place like a block north of the giant gap building (2 Folsom, I guess).  They were okay.  Average a little pricey ($3.50 for a basic chicken or pork.)  The chicken was a little beter than the roast pork.  Dinner with Michael at Tampopo.
