A very simple pork and black bean noodles for lunch. A simple pepperoni and pepperocini pizza for dinner. The dough wasn't as flexible as it usually is (it was a sourdough ball and I punched it down after I turned on the oven, so it probably didn't have time to get much of a second rise in), so it didn't spin out as thin as I'd have liked, but it was very nicely formed -- almost a perfect little circle!
The top picture is the eggplant pizza. The middle picture is the El Faro burrito from the other day.
Pork burrito from El Faro with Chris and Jeremy for lunch. It was very good -- I'm rating it three stars, above average. It is now my favorite burrito South of Market. The pork is carnitas, but it looks like they dumbed-down the menu for the downtown crowd. For example, they took pupusas off the menu completely! Fried chicken from KFC for dinner. Oh man, I loves my KFC.
A sadly mediocre sandwich for lunch from the Ambrocia Cafe yesterday. Too bad, because the Ambrosia Cafe people are just really, really sweet. Again I had tried to go to the International Food Court, but they were closed again! I went down there (Trinity Alley) with Dayo and Sean. Eggplant, garlic, and sriracha pizza for dinner. I was unsure about eggplant as a topping, especially since it was already cooked, but it turned out really well. I was worried about the moisture and mushiness of the eggplant, but the moisture wasn't a problem (although darn it, I still wish my oven got a little hotter so I could get a better crisp on the bottom of the crust) and the mushiness wasn't any different than if I put on fresh tomatoes or something.
So I'd say three hits over the last two days.
Lunch with Sean, Emily, and Dayo. Sean and I went to Enzo. I got the prosciutto sandwich and it was very good. I actually wanted to go to the International Food Court, but they were closed today. The entire food court! I don't know why. Leftovers (chicken, egg plant, and gai lan) at home for dinner.
Ground pork noodles from Tea Garden for lunch. Dinner with Jon and Sophie at Cordon Bleu (five-spice chicken!) The ground pork noodles were a little oily. That is my common complaint with Taiwanese food. The Vietnamese five-spice chicken was excellent as always.
I should eat at home tomorrow. I have so many leftovers toget through!
Beef curry noodles from the pho place at the International Food Court for lunch. Good as always. I walked down there with Chris. Dinner with Mom and Dad at the Happy Garden.
Easter lunch yesterday with the Wongs in Redwood City. I ate so much at lunch, I really didn't need to have any dinner. Leftovers and stuff I found in the freezer, I guess.
Won ton soup for lunch. Garlic, clam, and sriracha pizza for dinner. Then I went crazy and had a little tub of ice cream for dessert. Now, once again, I am all sorts of buzzed.
Vanilla ice cream and thin mints (yay! for Girl Scout cookie season!) for dessert. The vanilla turned out pretty well. I'm happy with it. I think I messed up a little, though, because I dumped the liquid into the frozen ice cream maker container before I started it turning, so part of the liquid froze right away. Now I know.
Missed lunch coz of a problem at work. Won ton noodles for dinner, along with a late night pineapple, anchovy, and sausage pizza. Again, I don't think the pineapple worked with the anchovy and sausage as well as I had hoped. Oh well.
A scoop of the plain homemade ice cream and honey (fancy-pants orange blossom honey) for dessert. That's a pretty darn good combination, although the honey froze immediately on contact with the ice cream. I'm not sure how (or even if I should) fix that. I have a picture, but it's on my camera still.
I went back to the Tea Garden for lunch today. I wasn't that hungry so I only got a stuffed rice ball for lunch (stuffed with shredded pork and pickled vegetables.) It was pretty good. I rounded out the meal with an apple I got at the office.
