I kinda didn't have lunch inasmuch as I didn't actually get a single thing to eat.  I just walked around and enjoyed the sunny weather at lunchtime.  But I sure ate a lot of snacks in the afternoon; chips and nuts and crackers and soup(!), but no cookies.  Pork and shrimp dumplings for dinner with Michael and Chang.  Again we made the dough (same ratio, AP flour and 60% tap water) and the filling in the food processor and it turned out pretty well.  A waffle ice cream sandwich from Kowloon Tong for dessert with Chang.

Reuben from The Sentinel for lunch.  It was okay, not the best Reuben I've ever had, but good enough.  Ribs for dinner.  I used a new dry rub and liquid smoke in the braising liquid.  It was pretty good, but I put in too much liquid smoke (two teaspoons in about 2/3 cup of liquid.)

A very chinesey day, foodwise.  BBQ pork won ton from the Jade Cafe (hadn't been back there for a while!), dinner with Mom, Dad, and Al at the Golden Wok (where I go all of the time.)

Chicken fried rice for lunch, KFC for dinner.  The KFC was oddly unsatisfying -- it was maybe overcooked or something.  A fried egg for afters.

Black bean chicken noodles for lunch.  I used cake flour and tried making hand-pulled noodles, but it didn't work.  The dough tore every time I tried to pull it, so I ended up just using a rolling pin and cutting it.  Dinner with Michael at the Macao and Friends restaurant on Irving.  At first we tried to go to Cajun Pacific, but they were all full.  Anyhow satay beef chow mein (pictured) and a Portugese curry crab (not).  The crab was pretty good.  It's not PPQ, on the other hand, it's nearly so expensive, either.

Lunch from Mehfil -- a pork/veggie combo plate.  I thought Mehfil was particularly delicious today.  I really could have used a little more rice, though.  Maybe I should, by policy, always keep a little thing of rice in the fridge at work.  That way if I ever need a little more rice it's there.  Pepperocini pizza for dinner.  I tried using the screen again, and again it didn't work out that well.  The bottom just doesn't get as crisp as when I cook on the stone, and it sticks to the screen.  Both problems might have to do with how thin I like to spin out the dough.  Maybe it's so thin that the sauce soaks through the dough, which causes it to cook slower and stick.

Special bonus food pic: last night's ribs.  Mmmm.

Khopra murga (chicken in a coconut curry) from Mehfil with Abhishek for lunch (Ashutosh came along, but got Subway instead.)  With extra rice!  But only because I had brought it to work last week and needed to finish it.  Pizza at work for dinner.  The sun-dried tomato and artichoke hearts pizza is a pretty good combination.
