Soup noodle day -- rare beef pho from the new Vietnamese place on Clement with Michael. It's Hanoi-style with broad rice noodles and no basil or bean sprouts. It was okay. About the same as the Turtle Palace. Soft tofu soup with ramen noodles from My Tofu House with Michael.
Beef curry ramen (hot) from Muracci's. It's still good, but they're still slow. Pizza for dinner at Stephanie and Joe's. I brought the dough and Chiara helped spin it out and put on the toppings. The first one kind of stuck to the peel, but the second came out much better. Rounder, at least.
Oh, I also ate a little piece of chocolate when I got home.
Chicken curry ramen from Muracci's for lunch. It's really good, as good as On the Bridge in J-town, but the service was really, really slow. Ribs at home for dinner. I used chicken broth instead of white wine for the braising liquid. That worked out well. My main problem was reducing the liquid afterwards. It just takes so long! I think I should remove the fat before trying to reduce it down to a thick sauce.
Spaghetti for lunch at St. Anthony's. I volunteered to work the dining room along with Shilpa and Troy. It's been a while since I was there. It was nice to try to make a difference, however small. Dinner at home. The first course was leftovers ramen. Specifically I added the bok choy and some of the seafood veggies we had on Friday. The second course was ribs. They were okay. I was a little too heavy with the dry rub, I guess, so it turned out a little salty again. Still, I'm relatively happy with them. I feel like the ribs are getting better, little by little. I can't believe how long it took (> 30 minutes!) to reduce the braising liquid down to a thickish sauce.
Lunch with Jon, Song, and Aki at Tanpopo. I had the Kyushu (with red ginger) ramen, which was really good. I'm starting to appreciate ginger more, like my Dad, I guess. Dinner with Aki at La Taqueria on Mission and 25th. I had a carnitas taco, which was pretty solid. I think the carnitas at El Castillitoare better, but these are still above average.
Lunch with Auren from the International Food Court. I went to the Burmese place to get the chicken coconut curry noodle soup that I love so. I like the way they package the soup and the noodles separately, so the noodles don't get soggy on the walk back to the office.
Dinner with Michael at Watami, the new shabu shabu/ramen place on Geary. It was okay. Average. I liked the soup and the toppings, and I really like the way you can add curry to a bunch of the ramens. Anchovy and pepperocini midnight pizza. The pizza turned out pretty well. I wish I had a little more anchovy, but it was a good balance.
I'm back! I was in Los Angeles over the weekend which explains, but does not excuse, my lack of posting over the last few days.

Ramen for lunch from the Japanese place in the International Food Court. I think it's called "Sushi Raw". In fact I'm sure of it. It was all right. Let's say 2/4 (average.) Not as good as Katana-ya or Tampopo, but better than anything I've had out here in the Richmond. Dinner at home. I started with a pomelo, had a couple of hard boiled eggs (I was going to make an omlette, but I got lazy), then a pizza for the main course. The pizza turned out better tonight -- olives and artichoke hearts. It's vegetarian, ya.
I finally got to play the Wii tonight. It's been a while. I know a couple of people that have one (Russell was the first!) and I saw it at the Target in Colma once. Naturally I'm not that good at any of the games. I did make a mii, though!
